The Need
Il Consorzio Bergamasco evolvere verso un sistema dinamicamente in grado di adeguare la
disponibilità dei server virtuali in funzione delle necessità di business.

The Challenge
Aumentare le performance operative, migliorandole del 40%.

The Solution
Migrare l’intera infrastruttura in ambito Private Cloud.

Introduction

The Consorzio di Bonifica della Media Pianura Bergamasca is a public-law entity established in 1955. It operates in accordance with national legislation (Royal Decree of February 13, 1933, No. 215), the Civil Code (Art. 862), and the more recent Regional Law No. 31/08 and subsequent amendments. Its purpose is to ensure water drainage, soil protection, safeguarding of water and natural resources, irrigation, and the enhancement of a designated reclamation area. The area under its jurisdiction covers, in whole or in part, the territories of 105 municipalities across the provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona, and Lecco.

The reclamation activities within the consortium’s territory include the regular and ongoing maintenance, operation, and monitoring of a dense network of irrigation and drainage canals, extending approximately 2,570 km. These canals collect water and channel it into reclamation systems to be discharged into public rivers.

In addition to managing rainwater runoff, reclamation activities also involve the disposal of treated wastewater from commercial, industrial, artisanal, and residential sources. Without these reclamation structures (canals, embankments, spillways), properties such as land, buildings, and roads would be located in areas no longer hydraulically safe. This could lead to flooding and overflows, resulting in the loss or devaluation of property, hindered usability, and negative impacts on the development of all economic and social activities.

The Solution

For the Bergamasco Consortium, a migration project was designed and developed to move approximately 40 machines from the on-premise virtual machine infrastructure to Criticalcase’s VDC infrastructure.
